Keukenhof 2016

Keukenhof Visit 2016.

On Monday May 16th, I went to the Keukenhof with my family who is currently visiting me from my home, Saba. Keukenhof is also known as the Garden of Europe which is one of the world’s largest flower gardens. It is amazingly beautiful & has so many different flowers. When you first think about visiting a flower garden you may just think ‘Why would I want to see flowers and visit a flower garden?‘ but trust me it is an experience worth experiencing. 🙂

Below I added some pictures that I took during our visit. To get to the Keukenhof we took a tram, train, bus and then walked around the area. The trip from where I live took about 1 hour and a half. My favourite was the blue orchid however, at every section we kept on saying ‘Oh this is pretty…No this is pretty…Ohh well they are ALL PRETTY’.  At no point could you just choose one favorite because they all had unique traits which made the whole garden exceptionally perfect. During the visit to the garden there was about a 15 minutes shower of rain and we quickly had to seek shelter due to the fact that we weren’t fully prepared. However, after it rained I took even more stunning pictures because the rain drops gave a wet texture to the petals. And in my option these pictures came out BEST!

My lilac bomber is from FashionNova and it is called the Picture Me Rollin’ Jacket – Lilac’. This is the perfect spring time bomber that I found online. I haven’t ran into anyone that has anything like it in the Netherlands. I also got a lot of compliments on my lippie colour which complimented my lilac bomber!

Tropical Summer Vacation|Vlog 3

Hi!!

I know, I know….it has a month since I am back from vacation & I am only now uploading my last Vlog of my Tropical Summer Vacation. But life happened and I was not feeling motivated to upload anything. During my vacation the time it took to upload really turned me off. I mean do you think 3 days to upload one little video is normal? (LOL)

Anyway, in this my new video I share some beautiful scenery from the islands Saba and St.Maarten. I must say I dearly miss the clear blue skies 🙁 Oh well I have these videos to look back on the moments I had.

Enjoy! & if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask 🙂

Love always.

Tropical Summer Vacation | Saba

My Tropical Summer Vacation is coming to an end soon…

Since I have been on Saba I haven’t been blogging as frequently as I would have liked. This is because I was having a great time with family and friends. I know this is no excuse but I am finally here! For this week I plan on uploading a new blog post every day. The blog post will be about different activities/the daily life on Saba. Seeing that Saba is not so widely known I thought I would share a few fun facts about the island.

Saba Fun Facts

  • Location: Latitude – 17.38 North ~ Longitude – 63.13 West in the northeastern Caribbean Sea.
  • Population: About 1,400.
  • The island surface = 13 square kilometres (5 square miles).
  • Also known as “The Unspoiled Queen”.
  • Great for Hiking & Diving.
  • Only one airline lands on the island. (Windward Island Airways)

Saba is so unique, to the point that it does not always show up on the map. (Amazing right?!) This is a great point but is also a bit of a down fall. Saba has so much to offer to its inhabitants as well as visitors. It is a very small island that is surrounded by endless ocean.

A few weeks ago I went on a day trip with the Dawn II (The Saba Ferry) to St.Maarten. In St.Maarten is where most people from Saba shops for different wholesale/retail daily needs. While on the island for the day I decided to shop for some cosmetics because during my stay on Saba I am doing different people’s makes-up. I got so much new goodies and was extremely contented with them.

It was my first time in a long time being on a boat. But I am so thankful that I took some sea sick tablets before going on board they helped me feel so much better. Two tips I have for anyone that are going on board the boat/ferry is to take sea sick pills before and to keep your head up and do not look down.;) (you will thank me later!) The boat ride to St.Maarten is about an hour and forty five minutes.

Well this is the end of my first blog post. Until the next one, tomorrow 🙂

Enjoy the pictures!

& leave a comment if you wan to know more about the island or a picture. 🙂

GRWM | Simple Summer Look

Since I am on vacation now I thought it would be a good idea to share with you my Summer go to make-up look. One of the most important things to use in the summer before applying makeup is primer. However, sometimes that great primer itself doesn’t always help with the heat on the islands.

In this new video I share with you my Simple Summer Make-Up Look. This look is simple but the combination of the bright lipstick, Heroine (Matte) from Mac Cosmetics it makes it extremely summer appropriate.

INGLOT Curaçao

This is a post that was supposed to be posted about two weeks ago, Opess….

Let’s just get right to it! The day after arriving on Curaçao I went out with my Mother & Aunt to do some shopping. My favourite items to shop for out of the Netherlands are always beauty and cosmetics. I feel that the selection we have back in the Netherlands is not always as large. & I love trying out new brands!

About three years ago I visited the INGLOT branch in Curaçao and bought a white eyeliner. I was happy with the purchase but since then I did not try anything from them. This time I wanted to try and get my hands on some dramatic and sultry eyelashes. But that did not happen because they were all out of the ones that I wanted 🙁 But I thought *hmmmm, why not try something different*.

Soooooo I then found these beautiful blue feather lashes and said “YES, I need those!”

The lady that owns the shop was so nice and showed me this amazing Mattifying Pressed Powder. This Powder is amazing & everyone who wears makeup while in sunny/hot places needs this. This powder should be used on top of your make-up. It helps to block out all the oils that forms during the day.

I also got his new pigment eye shadow that has a beautiful undertone. I did some research and found out that it is perspiration resistant, contains vitamin E, and is talc-free. Adding to that most AMC pigments are mostly having a matte base combined with glitter or shimmer. This pure pigment eye shadow has a stunning pink and orange duo undertone.

Dinah Veeris Botanical & Historical Garden|Curaçao

Yesterday my aunt and uncle took me to visit the Dinah Veeris Botanical & Historical Garden here on Curaçao. It is a places that is full of information on different plants and items that were used in the olden days. At the botanical and historical garden it is also possible to purchase coconut oil, sorrel jam and even herbal teas. All of these things are specially made in house by Dinah Veeris.

Upon entering into the garden there is a sign that reads the following below:

Papiamento version| “Tambe den e yerda berde mi a duna bo tur kos.” Genesis 9:3

English version |”And as I gave you the green plants, I gave you everything.” Genesis 9:3

This symbolises how everything on this earth was created with a meaning. Form almost each and every plant an oil can be extracted and used for different ailments and needs. For example coconut oil can be use to cook with, on the hair and even as a body oil. (just to mention some)

A small fee of 10 ANG  (Netherlands Antillean Guilder) can be paid for a walk in tour of the place, guided with a paper explanation. Or it is possible to join groups during the week, three times a day – Monday through Friday.

Seeing that we went on a Saturday we decided to just take a tour for ourselves and look at the garden. These were many plants that have great meanings along with house hold items that were used by those in the olden days.

I believe that anyone coming in search of knowing more about what the plants of the earth can offer use must go there. It is also quite interesting to see the household items that our grandparents and even parents used. The Botanical & Historical Garden that Dinah Veeris has is wonderfully up-kept and deserves a swing by once on Curaçao.

I took a few pictures while on my visit there. Here is a preview of images.

Until next time! 🙂
