WINTER WASH & GO ft. MIXED CHICKS & SHEADO

NEW VIDEO.

My updated Wash & Go that I have been using this winter. Even though it is much colder I still like to do a Wash & Go routine, I have been also reaching for the Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner as my preferred styler and sealing in the moisture with only some Liquid Gold HairButter from Sheado. My hair has been reacting very well to this combination. I think my recent hair cut has a lot to do with my curls and products doing well in my hair. My hair was shaped at the SheaDo salon in The Hague. I loved the end result because my hair was in dire need of a trim.

NEW VIDEO* – Our experience as students in the Netherlands

Hi Loves!

Back to my blog after so long! I have been having the worst schedule ever. With work times and then planing to do activities or even just being sick with the flue on my off days has been taking all my time. But last week I filmed a video with a fellow Saban (ex)student, Solange who is also living here in the Netherlands and we shared our experience as students in the Netherlands. Of course us being small island girls who came to this big county to study you can already guess that we have a lot to share. So making it even more interesting and instead of write it all out we had a conversation/discussion and got it all filmed and edited into a video which is more interesting, right?! With out writing more below you can find the link to the YouTube video.

& Don’t forget to like, comment & subscribe if haven’t already! If you have any comments about what we shared we would love to know what you think! Have a great Friday & an even better weekend!

ENTWINE NATURALLE COUTURE @PEARLEVENT

This past Sunday I was at the Pearl Event with Entwine Naturalle Couture. I stood with them as a ‘Brand Specialist’ and I must say I love doing this because I get to share the natural hair product’s information with others. I also get to meet so many different beautiful people.

During my conversations with the visiter I felt like my energy was running quite low. I was so tired from working about 8hrs the pervious day and being busy all week. However, I tried to do my best with interacting and asking the booth visitors if they heard or knew the product, shared information on how they assists with hydration and shared the specials we were offering at the event.

MORPHE 35O PALETTE

Hi Beautiful,

A while back I received the 35O – 35 COLOR NATURE GLOW EYESHADOW PALETTE! This is a great must-have; natural to glam palette that every glamour girl should have! Morphe palettes are usually always sold out so if you get the chance to get your hands on anyone GRAB IT (you won’t be sorry). The finish of the shades run from matte to shimmer and then natural to orange burnt to browns. Gorgeous shades, appropriate for all skin tones. Adding to that the pigmentation of these eyeshadows are very vibrant and the blend-ability is also easy. So you can use these shades to create a fancy cut crease or even a simple statement daytime look. This one is my first Morphe palette and I am looking forward to my next purchase from them.

You can purchase this palette as well as other online at Morphe products from MorpheBrushes located in America and Boozyshop located in the Netherlands.

Dimensions of Palette:

PIERCED.

On Wednesday I got PIERCED! I am still in awe and can not believe that I got it done. For the longest I have been talking about getting my nose pierced; either my nostril or septum. But after showing and telling some friends and family members about it they disagreed with the septum one… But I never got the courage to just go and get the nostril done. I always had the perfect excuse for not getting it (“Ohhhh, not today”…”Maybe tomorrow”…”When my skin clears up”…”I will get it when no one is with me”…”I swear I will get it next month”…”It is too expensive for just a piercing”) those are just a few of excuses that I used but you get the picture!

So on this day (Wednesday) my last day of school for before the winter break my friend/classmate told me that she finally had the perfect “unique” birthday gift for me. She called it “unique” because since my birthday she has been saying that she does not know what to get me and I kept on telling her “Be unique”…. This was her way of “BEING UNIQUE”! When she first told me the plan I just laughed it away and did not take her serious. But then we went to the city of Rotterdam and walked around. After walking for a while I noticed that we arrived at a tattoo and piercing store. (Shocked) Walked in and she then asked me which kind of jewellery am I getting. For about 10 minutes we went back and forth about me getting it and finally I took the pen to fill out the form.

After I filled out the form the piercing lady showed my options for jewellery. [There was no GOLD] I only wanted something gold because I do not wear silver accessories. But after she went to look she noticed that just the day before they got in some new gold studs! (GREAT, that was my choice)  I then also chose to get it done on my left side because that is my good side 😉 Everything seemed like it was meant to be, she also told us that on that day it was half price they had a special! It being half price and the fact that she found the gold stud was a sign! IT WAS MEANT TO BE!! This all happened at Queen of Rings in Rotterdam.

To explain the process of getting the piercing in I think it is best that you check out a video on YouTube for a visual explanation. However, I must say it is very quick and does not hurt much. About a 3/4 out of 10. Only one tear fell from my left eye and it bled a little but nothing much to be alarmed about.

Two items that I am using to clean the area twice a day is sea salt and anti-bacterial soap. These were recommend by the piercing lady as well as from different sources. Below I added a picture that shows you how I look with the piercing. I really am happy with how it looks and looking forward to talking a lot of pictures showing off my new piercing.

What do you thing about it? Do you also have any piercings or are you also thinking about getting soon?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & Weekly Obsession

So my 23rd Birthday was on Thursday DECEMBER 10th and like every year I get very emotional days leading up to my birthday. Being away from family, previous memories of my birthday and even the feeling of being alone. I know that it is not good to feel like that on my birthday and I should be happy for the extra year and for even life itself but usually I do not feel like that (another time I will make a post about emotions)….

For my birthday this year I got to see my new home that I will be getting next year and then I spent time with friends and family. It was great to get to see my house because this will be my first ‘Home’ while living in the Netherlands. I usually live with someone (not really) but it is really complicated to explain to people because the person was never home. So I actually lived alone.

About a month before my birthday I searched on Pintrest for a cake inspiration because a birthday is not complete without a fab cake! 🙂 The one I picked I sent to a couple from Saba that is living in the Netherlands. They have their own catering service called Love & Food Catering. You should check them out if you live here their creations look amazing but also taste deliciously. What I got was a double layered vanilla cake with white chocolate butter cream frosting in the turquoise colour and a dozen red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing topped with a cherry (YUMMY) Their red velvet is AMAZING, so soft and velvety. Their prices are also very much affordable and can be found on their website.

So for this week’s weekly obsession is my ever so yummy birthday cake and cupcakes.

Below I have added some pictures of my treats for you my lovely readers to visually enjoy. Don’t forget to check out LOVE & FOOD CATERING on FB as well & place your order.

Pearls of the Dutch Caribbean 2015 Evening

Hi There,

This past Saturday was the Pearls of The Dutch Caribbean 2015 – Gala & Awards Show. As I previously shared I was nominated and in the category of Student. However, I did not win 🙁 But on the bright side winning was not the most important aspect of the evening for me because I was contented with the fact that I was nominated!

Seeing that I double booked this day with the Party Over Hair Event I decided to not go and just attend the Pearls of the Dutch Caribbean. I still feel a bit disappointed in myself because I could have mingled & networked with likeminded beauty/fashion enthusiast….ohhh well next time.

The whole evening of the Pearls of the Dutch Caribbean was a great first time experience but I felt that different areas could be developed a little more. But I think that the organisation will ask for feedback and make the right adaptions for the next time.

Ending I would like to congratulate all my fellow nominees and the winning nominees of the Pearls of the Dutch Caribbean!

Enjoy the pictures I took of the evening below 🙂

Francis Sling is the artist that created all the artwork seen below. I am also thinking about purchasing a work of art from him, they are AMAZINGLY MADE!
