MY 2nd TIME (FULL BRAZILIAN WAX)

This might be TMI (Too Much Information) for some but hey we are all adults here right?… & by the way this is a lifestyle blog! 🙂

Now let’s start the conversation about my 1st and 2nd time having the full Brazilian wax done. I experienced my first time back in July and my second time just this week! I feel super proud of myself because I talked about having a full Brazilian wax done for so long. But like most I am so embarrassed/ashamed/terrified even when just thinking that I have to lay down on a bed and someone if literally right up into well onto and touching my penny (lol, that was the name I called ‘it’ my vajayjay/vagina since young) with a bright light and probably criticising how mines look.

Even now while writing this I feel like ‘Girl you survived’. And I am getting over it because the fact of the matter is that it is their job and they have probably done this 500 times before you and they are just doing their job.

Let’s talk about the pain, comparing the two times I believe that it did get better. The first time of course it was a bit painful however, it is not a pain that lasts all day, where your penny 🙂 just feels like it is burning or just an unnatural. When the wax is applied they allow it to dry and then gently pull. After the wax is completely pulled of they apply pressure to the spot and then instantly or almost instantly it is relieved. For me this was done for the whole thing & for my second time I dared to get the back door also done! (lol are you also laughing while reading this?) The back door was so much easier and faster, she used the general wax and then applied the one that is used for the smaller hair.

One funny part for me was the way in which you lay down for the front and the back. For the front you are on your back and your under feet are touching, so that she can get up in there. For the back you have to lay on your belly and hold your butt cheeks so that they don’t stick together! (lol, just imagine that)

I would say that a full waxing session takes about 30-45 minutes and it goes by so fast. It is not awkward while laying there, well at least not for me. I make sure not to look at what she is doing and just keep my head up, hands together and talk. Talking about yourself and sharing stories in general like any other salon experience. & the finally the final result is amazing! Everything is super soft for days and you are instantly beach ready.

The salon I visited is located in The Hague and so far I am super happy with their service. It is super clean and they are so professional.

Have you though about getting the full Brazilian done? What was you biggest fear? What did you think about it?

ROOTS PR – PRESS EVENT |Bloggers, Vloggers & Influencers

Hi Loves,

On Sunday I attended the ROOTS PR – Press Event for Bloggers, Vloggers and Influencers. This was an event that was held at a warm venue in Amsterdam and in attendance was some of the best coloured Blogger, Vloggers and Influencers in the Netherlands. It was a great experience getting to meet some of beautiful people I have been following and never met in person some of them include the following J’adoreMyCurls,  This Girl’s Black Book and Black Loves Gold.

During this event 3 workshops were held; ‘How to earn money with your Blog’ followed by ‘From Blog to Vlog’ and then SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)’ . Each of the workshops was conducted by experts in the area and they shared a lot of valuable information. I made sure and took notes and marked down all important information shared.

One of the main points that I took from these workshops and the event itself is that it is important to stand strong in what I share on my blog and in vlogs. It was also shared that networking and connecting with likeminded Bloggers and Vlogger. And that it is not about me wanting to be found but more about the fact of finding the target group. Overall I must say that the event was a success and I am looking forward to what is to come in the near. And then not forgetting the goodie bag we received at the end of the event… It was great! SOoOoOo many different hair, skin care and beauty products. This was one of the best goodie bags I have received at any event and will be doing reviews on the products I received.

Below I have added some images that I took during the day!

Enjoy!

Dinah Veeris Botanical & Historical Garden|Curaçao

Yesterday my aunt and uncle took me to visit the Dinah Veeris Botanical & Historical Garden here on Curaçao. It is a places that is full of information on different plants and items that were used in the olden days. At the botanical and historical garden it is also possible to purchase coconut oil, sorrel jam and even herbal teas. All of these things are specially made in house by Dinah Veeris.

Upon entering into the garden there is a sign that reads the following below:

Papiamento version| “Tambe den e yerda berde mi a duna bo tur kos.” Genesis 9:3

English version |”And as I gave you the green plants, I gave you everything.” Genesis 9:3

This symbolises how everything on this earth was created with a meaning. Form almost each and every plant an oil can be extracted and used for different ailments and needs. For example coconut oil can be use to cook with, on the hair and even as a body oil. (just to mention some)

A small fee of 10 ANG  (Netherlands Antillean Guilder) can be paid for a walk in tour of the place, guided with a paper explanation. Or it is possible to join groups during the week, three times a day – Monday through Friday.

Seeing that we went on a Saturday we decided to just take a tour for ourselves and look at the garden. These were many plants that have great meanings along with house hold items that were used by those in the olden days.

I believe that anyone coming in search of knowing more about what the plants of the earth can offer use must go there. It is also quite interesting to see the household items that our grandparents and even parents used. The Botanical & Historical Garden that Dinah Veeris has is wonderfully up-kept and deserves a swing by once on Curaçao.

I took a few pictures while on my visit there. Here is a preview of images.

Until next time! 🙂
