Meraki Cosmetics – Zeus Loose Highlighter Powder Review

New cosmetics brand in the Netherlands created by make-up artist Kim ter Stege. The cosmetics line currently consists of 10 Loose Highlighter Powders. With shades ranging from the fairest to darkest skin tones. The loose highlighter powders are suitable for face, eyes, lips and body.

The first thing that attracted me to the brand is the name! I really wanted to get to know what Meraki meant and the meaning is very meaningful. I believe that Kim has chosen the perfect name for her brand.

Meraki is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be.”

Meraki’s Loose Highlighter Powders Include

 • Colour Shifting – 4 Powders (The colour effect changes depending on the angle of viewing)
 • Fair/Medium Skin Tones – 3 Powders
 • Medium/Dark Skin Tones – 3 Powders

Zeus is the one that I purchased, it is described as a highly glowing bronze loose highlighter powder. The packaging is perfect and compact, it holds 4g. of product and can last a long time because a little can go a long way. Starting off it is best to use a light hand seeing that the highlighter is very finely milled.

Meraki Cosmetics is also vegan and cruelty free. It is stated on their website that no animal was harmed in the making of the products.

After using the product the only con that I can find is the packaging because of the holes in the container the product can be easily shaken and become messy. However, I have this same impression of the Sasha Buttercup Setting Powder which has a similar container.

Overall I would highly recommend purchasing the loose powder highlighter from Meraki Cosmetics because the products are highly pigmented and can be used in multiple ways. Adding the loose powder to the tear duct for a pop, lips for a shiny look or even to the collar bone area for a added highlight in your Christmas dress.

Meaning of Zeus

Zeus (/ˈzjuːs/; Ancient Greek: Ζεύς) was the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion, who ruled as king of the gods of Mount Olympus.

I purchased my Meraki Cosmetics Loose Highlighter for € 17,99. Currently there is a special code [XMASGLOW] that you can use for 15% off your order.

What are your thoughts on the shades & is there a particular one that you want to get your hands on?

MY 2nd TIME (FULL BRAZILIAN WAX)

This might be TMI (Too Much Information) for some but hey we are all adults here right?… & by the way this is a lifestyle blog! 🙂

Now let’s start the conversation about my 1st and 2nd time having the full Brazilian wax done. I experienced my first time back in July and my second time just this week! I feel super proud of myself because I talked about having a full Brazilian wax done for so long. But like most I am so embarrassed/ashamed/terrified even when just thinking that I have to lay down on a bed and someone if literally right up into well onto and touching my penny (lol, that was the name I called ‘it’ my vajayjay/vagina since young) with a bright light and probably criticising how mines look.

Even now while writing this I feel like ‘Girl you survived’. And I am getting over it because the fact of the matter is that it is their job and they have probably done this 500 times before you and they are just doing their job.

Let’s talk about the pain, comparing the two times I believe that it did get better. The first time of course it was a bit painful however, it is not a pain that lasts all day, where your penny 🙂 just feels like it is burning or just an unnatural. When the wax is applied they allow it to dry and then gently pull. After the wax is completely pulled of they apply pressure to the spot and then instantly or almost instantly it is relieved. For me this was done for the whole thing & for my second time I dared to get the back door also done! (lol are you also laughing while reading this?) The back door was so much easier and faster, she used the general wax and then applied the one that is used for the smaller hair.

One funny part for me was the way in which you lay down for the front and the back. For the front you are on your back and your under feet are touching, so that she can get up in there. For the back you have to lay on your belly and hold your butt cheeks so that they don’t stick together! (lol, just imagine that)

I would say that a full waxing session takes about 30-45 minutes and it goes by so fast. It is not awkward while laying there, well at least not for me. I make sure not to look at what she is doing and just keep my head up, hands together and talk. Talking about yourself and sharing stories in general like any other salon experience. & the finally the final result is amazing! Everything is super soft for days and you are instantly beach ready.

The salon I visited is located in The Hague and so far I am super happy with their service. It is super clean and they are so professional.

Full Brazillian = € 36,50 LadyWax The Hague

Have you though about getting the full Brazilian done? What was you biggest fear? What did you think about it?

Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit Swatches On Dark Skin | SJ’s Obsessions

Finally got my hands on the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits! (yayyy)

There has been so much talk in the online beauty world about how great, terrible, fabulous and over-priced the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits are. I have never been a fan of the Kardashian’s or anything that regards their family however, I am a sucker from a great lippie or a long-lasting matte lipstick.

My Aunt and I were very interested in trying them for ourselves, so she tried really hard to make an order because those products always get bought/sold-out within 10 minutes (or so it feels like). But lucky her she got to order five different shades. The shades that were captured were:

Koko K

Candy K

Posie K

22

True Brown K

Each Lip Kit costs $29 and the talk on the internet was that they are over priced but in my opinion they are affordable. You can spend about $33.50 at MAC Cosmetics for a lipstick and lip pencil. Maybe Kylie Cosmetics is new to the market but I was all in for giving it a try. In my opinion I like the formula that the liquid lipsticks have, they have a sort of vanilla/strawberry smell, the texture is smooth, moveable and buildable. For the lip liners they are very creamy and can be worn alone.

Pros: (Matte Liquid Lipstick – Long-Lasting, Highly-Pigmented, Smells Great) (Lip Liner – Creamy, Good Quality)

Cons: (Matte Liquid Lipstick & Lip Liner – Drying, Cheaper Similar Dupes Available)

There are some dupes out there from a more affordable brand called ColourPop they have a wide lovely array of shades and finishes to choose from. But in concluding my blog post of the Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick and Lip Liner – Lip Kits I would advise any lip product lover to get their hands on at least one unique shade.

Do you have any of the Kylie Cosmetics products? What are your thoughts on them? And if you don’t have any, which are you trying to get your hands on?

WEEKLY OBSESSION | HAIR PRODUCT

Hi there!

My first ‘Obsession‘ of the YEAR goes to…. ORS – Curls unleased™ – Leave-In Conditioning Crème (cocoa & shea butter). I have been reaching for this leave-in ever since I purchased it. It goes great in combination with all of my favourite styling products, so no white product build-up! It has a very nutty, cocoa, shea butter smell & I love it! Another plus point of this product is that 16oz. of product sits in this big enough pot, meaning you can always reach for some leave-in and it won’t finish within 2 weeks. (NATURAL HAIR PROBLEMS)

Over all I am OBSESSED about this new leave-in from Curls unleased™. The only strange thing is that I can not find it on their website or much about it on a google search. I remember buying this product along with another ORS – Curls unleased™ product and paying only €10 for the two & for me that was a steal of a deal. (These deals you will usually catch at Natural Hair Events)

I use this Leave-In Conditioning Crème (cocoa & shea butter) right after I co-wash my hair. When I have time in shower I apply this leave-in to my very damp hair or sometimes when I am more in a rush I apply it out of shower to damp hair. After apply this leave-in I mainly reach for my favourite styling products and my Wash&Go is complete. Another way in which I like using this is when I am going to twist my hair. First spraying my hair lightly with water and then applying this leave it. It helps with the detangling process as well as adding back moisture to my hair.

I would highly recommend this product for those of you looking for a new leave-in. Give it a try and who knows this might just turn out to be your new ‘OBSESSION‘ as well 😉

Love always,

Sue-Jeen.

Weekly Obsessions | Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder

Hi Loves!

It is time that I share with you this weeks ‘Weekly Wednesday Obsession’. This week my featured obsession is the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder (See pictures below).

IMG_8710IMG_8715IMG_8717

[INFORMATION FROM THE WEBSITE]

“Buttercup is completely flash-friendly, with just one shade for all skin tones and skin types. It can be used to highlight, set your concealer or can be applied liberally over the entire face. It does not give off the white cast or turn ashy in bright lighting or photos, as with other setting powders. Buttercup Powder absorbs oil, reduces shine and keeps your face matte for hours. It is finely milled so it glides onto the skin, blends easily and softens the appearance of fine lines and pores, without looking caked on.”

LUSH|Mask of Magnaminty Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I got myself one of the LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics masks. All of LUSH’s items are HANDMADE, 100% VEGAN and they do not TEST ON ANIMALS (How great is that?). This brand has so many amazing items to choose from and they all smell so pleasant! You should definitely check out their store. For the past few weeks I have been OBSESSING about my skin because honestly speaking I deal with hyper-pigmentation and breakouts now and then. So I have been researching and looking for new things to help control and clear these problems.

The name of the item I got is Mask of Magnaminty, the amount of product is 125g and I purchased it for €8.60. This mask is a deep cleansing face and back mask. Two of the main ingredients are china clay which is great for acne prone skin and fresh peppermint that gives your face a tingly feeling. I love peppermint or tea tea oil in any item I use on my body or hair. It gives a very fresh clean feeling.
