DIY: TURMERIC FACE MASK

As you know skin care is always one of my favourite areas to do research on and I am obsessed with trying out new mixtures that I can do myself. I recently stumbled upon this mixture that works fabulously. Turmeric, before I had never heard of this almost miracle powder. It actually comes from the ginger family and is used for a wide variety of things such as in food and medicine.

Ingredients are as follows;

  • 1tbs TURMERIC POWDER
  • 1tbs ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1-2tbs MILK
  • 1-2tbs COCONUT OIL

MY FRIEND DOES MY MAKEUP| SUE-JEEN JANGA

NEW VIDEO.

A few weeks ago I gave my friend Mariah a few makeup tips and thought it would be interesting if she did my makeup. We filmed it all & it was cool to see how she used her skills. Even though she almost never does anything more than lipstick and mascara she was able to try out a full face on me using skills she obtained from watching various YouTube videos. Click on the video below to be directed to the video and see how much fun we had while filming it.

Be aware there are a lot of giggling and you will enjoy it.

Love always!

  • 3tbs Almond Oil
  • 2tbs Vitamin E Oil

SKIN HISTORY & CURRENT CARE + LUSH CUPCAKE REVIEW

Let’s Talk Skin Care!

If you have been following me or know me for a while you know that I have been struggling with skin issues for the longest of time. I have had so many ups and downs with my skin, not only with acne and hyper-pigmentation on my face but chest and back. It is so annoying and definitely lowered my self-esteem.

WINTER WASH & GO ft. MIXED CHICKS & SHEADO

NEW VIDEO.

My updated Wash & Go that I have been using this winter. Even though it is much colder I still like to do a Wash & Go routine, I have been also reaching for the Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner as my preferred styler and sealing in the moisture with only some Liquid Gold HairButter from Sheado. My hair has been reacting very well to this combination. I think my recent hair cut has a lot to do with my curls and products doing well in my hair. My hair was shaped at the SheaDo salon in The Hague. I loved the end result because my hair was in dire need of a trim.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

H A P P Y  N E W  Y E A R.  2017

I wish the person that is reading this nothing but the best and may all your wishes come to reality. That all the good karma you put out into this world finds its way right back to you, be it in one day or one month. Positivity!

2016 has flown by so fast and so much has happened in my life over the year. There has been many high points and very low points in my 2016. At the beginning of the year I found out someone in my family had cancer which honestly hit me really hard and had me feel really sad about the whole situation. (Thankfully they are doing much better now) Then I got my very 1st fully OWN apartment (I am renting not bought), furnished and did everything with my own money. (INDEPENDENT WOMAN) I must say I am super proud of myself for that. I handed in my thesis and found out I failed it on the 1st try. (Was super down again about that) After I found out my Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle were coming to visit me in the Netherlands. (SUPER HAPPY moment) Redoing my thesis and then PASSING! (Proud moment) Then officially graduating from my bachelor study! (Phewwww) Those were the biggest/most highlighted moments from my 2016.

New Year….New Goals?

Of course! Ever year I make goals and keep them for myself. I don’t really share them with people because I feel like not everyone you share your goals with will support you. So to be safe just keep them to yourself and push to achieve them. I have my list of goals and hopefully by the end of 2017 I can mark off a few that I achieved. 🙂

One thing that I have noticed about myself is that I don’t celebrate the small or big moments enough. This year I will be working on celebrating every moment and actually inhaling all that is happening. Taking the time to process the happening. Along with that I want to continue to work on myself mentally. Developing more personally on a level and loving me MORE!

For my blogging and vlogging life I want to put myself on a schedule of a blog post every Wednesday and video every Sunday. I hope that this is something I can stick with because sometimes I allow other things to come in place of doing the things I have a passion for.

There is so much in life to be grateful for and I just hope that in 2017 I can practice what I preach. Giving GOOD VIBES ONLY!

Meraki

Meraki Cosmetics – Zeus Loose Highlighter Powder Review

New cosmetics brand in the Netherlands created by make-up artist Kim ter Stege. The cosmetics line currently consists of 10 Loose Highlighter Powders. With shades ranging from the fairest to darkest skin tones. The loose highlighter powders are suitable for face, eyes, lips and body.

The first thing that attracted me to the brand is the name! I really wanted to get to know what Meraki meant and the meaning is very meaningful. I believe that Kim has chosen the perfect name for her brand.

Meraki is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be.”

Meraki’s Loose Highlighter Powders Include

  • Colour Shifting – 4 Powders (The colour effect changes depending on the angle of viewing)
  • Fair/Medium Skin Tones – 3 Powders
  • Medium/Dark Skin Tones – 3 Powders

Zeus is the one that I purchased, it is described as a highly glowing bronze loose highlighter powder. The packaging is perfect and compact, it holds 4g. of product and can last a long time because a little can go a long way. Starting off it is best to use a light hand seeing that the highlighter is very finely milled.

Meraki Cosmetics is also vegan and cruelty free. It is stated on their website that no animal was harmed in the making of the products.

After using the product the only con that I can find is the packaging because of the holes in the container the product can be easily shaken and become messy. However, I have this same impression of the Sasha Buttercup Setting Powder which has a similar container.

Overall I would highly recommend purchasing the loose powder highlighter from Meraki Cosmetics because the products are highly pigmented and can be used in multiple ways. Adding the loose powder to the tear duct for a pop, lips for a shiny look or even to the collar bone area for a added highlight in your Christmas dress.

Meaning of Zeus

Zeus (/ˈzjuːs/; Ancient Greek: Ζεύς) was the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion, who ruled as king of the gods of Mount Olympus.

I purchased my Meraki Cosmetics Loose Highlighter for € 17,99. Currently there is a special code [XMASGLOW] that you can use for 15% off your order.

What are your thoughts on the shades & is there a particular one that you want to get your hands on?

Let’s Catch Up!

Hi Lovely People,

I have been on the down low for a few weeks now. That is because I have been feeling so low mentally and then being hit with a flu that lasted about 1 month (ughh). I am currently still a bit stuffy but my energy levels have risen so much. Mental issues are just not talked about and seem to be a bit taboo. No one talks about it or even if they do, don’t know how to address the topic. However, I have been seeking help and what I have learned is that I need to keep myself busy with people and things. For the past few weeks even though I have been feeling very ill with the flu and a bit down I started doing more stuff with friends and trying to stay a bit busy. Not always does it work out but for the most part I have been so much more contented!

Not to just create this entire blog post about my mental issues but also about what I have been up to and what’s on my mind. For the past weeks it has been very entertaining to be cooking, trying out new foods and meeting up with friends for drinks or just to catch up. Like just last-night I went out to have typical Eritrean/Ethiopian food and it was very tasty. I inserted some pictures below so you can see what I ate, on the side we had exotic beer called Mongozo and got the coconut and mango flavours. They were amazing, nothing like your typical beer!

For the coming weeks I want to finish editing my London Haul which I filmed after I came back from London. Sharing so many new goodies I got myself while I was there. And also a fast make-up look that I filmed last night before going out. There is so many ideas I have but I just need to stop deliberating, get off my lazy butt and DO IT! Until the next post which I hope will not be too far from now….

Hi there!

Back with some good news!!

& a few pictures! About a week ago I officially GRADUATED! But as we speak I am currently sitting on the couch very sick with the flu. I am so sick that I decided to stay at home from work because I am too ill and just need some rest.

Last week Wednesday the day before my graduation after finishing work I was supposed to have dinner with colleagues and friends. After leaving work with three of my colleagues walking to my friends house who came all the way from doing her internship in London just to be here in the Netherlands for my graduation. Once there I knocking on the door…&  boom it turned out to be a surprise party! Super sweet of her she organised the whole surprise by herself. I was super surprised and it was a truly enjoyable evening. I definitely felt the love.

My graduation day which took place last week Thursday actually turned out to be more official and nicer than I originally thought. It started with a formal talk by the coordinator of the program and then individually we were called up. After being called up and taking a sit a personal quote about our study at Inholland and picture was up on the screen, while mentors or lecturers gave a little speech about us individually (this made me and I believe every graduate feel special.) Once that was over it was back to the formal signing of the diploma and pictures of course. Once the whole ceremony was over we made our way to have some refreshments and take group/class picture. It was a great experience and I am thankful I made.

Don’t forget to follow me on INSTAGRAM for more picture.

Love always!

UPDATE|PLUS 2 NEW VIDEOS.

Hi There Love,

I am back with a little life update and to share with you two new videos that are new and live on my YouTube Channel.

Update//.

It’s officially going to happen. I am graduating this Thursday from my bachelor study of International Communications Management. I should be extremely excited/happy/proud but honestly I am not… I don’t know if its because I have heard so long ago that I passed or that I am dealing with some extremely personal issues that I hope to share in the future or if I am just feeling anxious about what the future has to offer me. But no matter what I will make sure to be there on the day to collect my diploma. Today I am going into the city a bit earlier before work in search for an outfit for this special day and maybe that might just do the trick (honesty I doubt it).

I know that some are still wondering what I am up to career-wise and for now I still have my part-time job in retail at Zara and applying for jobs in the field of what I studied. I was a bit indecisive if I actually want to do that but come on that is where the money is and I did not ‘waste’ all of those years not to at least try the corporate/professional field out. On the side I am looking and planning to study something else in 2017…but you will just have to wait and see what that is.

Last week I came back from visiting a friend in London and I do have some amazing pictures and footage to share with you all beautiful followers. This blog post/video should be up on my channels by Friday this week. Stay tuned!

Have you also struggled with keeping your levels of positivity up? What do you do to keep them flowing?

The two new videos I have share can be seen below.
